Organic Composted Chicken Manure
One of our suppliers in IL is offering a “low odor” composted chicken manure that is naturally high in calcium. The calcium will help flocculate soils and create a better environment for enhanced root development. The analysis of available NPK is at the rate of 2-4-3. Healthy soils are the key to producing high yields and this organic composted chicken manure provides the nutrients and organic matter to help improve soil tilth. It really is a great way to reintroduce biologically active organic matter into the soil!
It is OMRI Certified and a pretty easy product to spread with a relatively low odor compared to other manures. What are you waiting for? Give us a call or email us today for a delivered price!

1. Timely news
Several of our suppliers have informed us that they will be raising prices beginning on August 1st. Pell-lime & gypsum as well as granular SRP will all be going up then.
2. Saving Tip - Here is an interesting tip we received recently:
"As many of you know sulfur continues to be the new hot nutrient. While I have heard rumors of more AMS being produced, foreign outlets are offering higher prices than domestic outlets. I don't foresee that there will be enough AMS to cover domestic needs as some of the US product will go overseas."
"With AMS priced much higher than SuperCal SO4 (pelletized gypsum), many have found that blending it with Urea gets them the same nutrient percentages with much better margins."
With the usual high demand for nutrients in the Fall, we suggest you not wait until then to place your orders. If you can fill your bins early, you'll get a nice discount by ordering before these price increases go into effect in just a couple of weeks. Call or email us now for a price quote to your location.

Limited-Time Offer on Dried Chicken Manure out of Illinois / Flooding Will Affect Lime Supply to Certain Areas
For those of you who may be interested, we have a limited-time offer on dried chicken manure out of Illinois. It has been dehydrated to about 20% moisture content. It is not composted or pelletized, just the raw original end results from all those chickens. It is chunky & fluffy & as you may well know, stinks to high heaven. But it is a great natural fertilizer with a high nutrient value! The analysis is around 4-4-4 with at least 8% calcium. The FOB price will be at less than half the normal cost--this dehydrated chicken manure is priced to sell! Give us a call or shoot us an email & we’ll give you a delivered price to your location.
This offer is only good from now until the end of August or as long as the product is available. At present there are only 800 tons of it so get it before it’s a gonner!
On another subject, one of our suppliers recently mentioned how the Missouri River flooding will affect the lime supply to certain areas.
As they so aptly stated:
"Our thoughts are with those affected by the Missouri River flooding. Not just with the farmers that will be unable to harvest a crop this year, but also with the residents of the area. Most buildings in the flood area will have to be demolished after sitting in flood waters for 3+ months.
The river flood will likely impact agriculture throughout the Midwest as barge, train and truck traffic will be interrupted possibly though September.
Since it seems apparent that there could be a very real shortage of lime in Nebraska and Western Iowa it would be wise to book your product early."
And that goes for any other fertilizer you may be considering for the fall. Why not avoid the rush & high price of freight in the Fall, I am pretty sure prices are better now than they will be in the Fall.
Have a great summer!

If you purchase Pelletized Lime and Gypsum before April, you will save a few dollars/ton.
Just got word that SOP (0-0-50) is going up by double digits in April. To get today's prices your order must be picked up by April 1st so if you're needing SOP, you might want to take care of that soon, not to mention you'll avoid the Spring rush.
Give us a call or email us and we'll do our best to help. You can also use our online quote request form.

We recently got word from our supplier of carbonized lime (Trio, Triplicity) that have 100-150 tons bulk carbonized lime on the floor that they need to move within the next 30 days or so. They will be offering it for a significantly reduced price of approximately $30/ton less.
That means your FOB price from Ft. Dodge, IA would be around $188/ton bulk depending on the volume you order. It could be less! Why don't you give me a call and ask for a delivered price if you are interested.
11/10/10
You're still in time to order your SOP (0-0-50) before it goes up another $35/ton! Prices are going up again mid-November. Give me a call or contact me now for a delivered price.

The price of Sulfate of Potash (0-0-50) will be going up on November 1st.
If you want to save at least $20/ton on the SOP (0-0-50) then you may wish to consider an October order. Just remember that the product will need to be picked up by Friday, October 29th to avoid paying the higher price.
9/16/10
GOOD NEWS! Liquid Fish 5-1-1 is available again at approximately $3.34/gal. This is not including freight. If you're interested, give me a call and I'll quote you a delivered price.

If you have been observing the markets, you probably have more than an inkling that prices are about to head up even more. With the decline in the purchasing power of the dollar, it takes more dollars to purchase the same quantities of the products you have purchased in the past. In that light, it may be a good idea to do your purchasing in the early fall rather than next spring this time around as prices will most likely be higher by then.
I can say for sure that some prices will go up even in November so it seems that sooner rather than later is the way to go this coming season. As we speak, some products are unavailable until November when they will most likely reappear at a higher price.

Good News -- Pelletized Lime and Gypsum are now being offered at a discount through the months of July and August.
Carbonized Lime is available once again and is also being offered during July and August at a discount.
If orders for any of the above 3 products are prepaid before the end of July, you will qualify for an additional discount.
The prices of these products will be going up significantly in the fall, so ordering ahead of the fall rush will save you $.
6/24/10
We recently heard that Pelletized Lime & Gypsum will be offered at a discount during the months of July & August. I have it from a reliable source that prices of these products will be going up significantly in the Fall.

5-1-1 Liquid Fish has become scarce at present and the price has gone up significantly until things get back to normal in the Gulf. However, 2-5-0.2 Liquid Fish is available at discounts of up to 20%. 55 gallon drums and 275 gallon totes are at a 20% discount. Bulk is available at a 10% discount.
There is also an alternative High Nitrogen Fish available that you might be interested in until the 5-1-1 becomes available again. Call or email me for more information. It is also at a discounted price for a limited time only.
5/24/10
Good news--the Pelletized Lime and Pelletized Gypsum that were on allocation are once again available in bulk. Bagged product is still a few weeks out. The Trio or Carbonized Lime will be available more into the summer.
For those of you who are interested in 5-1-1 Liquid Fish, please take note. Fish used in the production of the 5-1-1 is taken from the Gulf and due to the oil spill, fishing has been greatly affected. We have seen a price increase of approx. 0.50 cents/gallon to date.
2/11/10
You have probably noticed that most fertilizer prices are creeping up again. One bright spot of news on that horizon is that there has been a recent decline in the price of 0-0-50 Potassium Sulfate of over 10%! This translates into nearly a $100 drop in the price per ton cost of that fertilizer to you.
If you prefer, you may prepay this now for spring delivery. The only variation would be in the cost of freight which is something we would have to price at the time of delivery.
I have received news that the price of 0-0-50 will probably go up again after April 1st. Good reason to get your orders in before then.
11/30/09
Prices on MAP, UAN and AMS seem to have bottomed out and are beginning to rise again. We've also learned that prices will increase for the Pelleted Gypsum and Lime beginning in the new year as well.
Pelleted Chicken Manure is hard to come by in the months of March and April due to high demand. The regular daily production is already spoken for during those months.
However, there is a considerable amount on hand as we speak, making now through mid-February the best time to buy if you expect to have some to use in the Spring.

AgLabs has found an excellent source of chicken manure that comes from cage layers. It's dried and pelletized and put into a granule. The analysis is 4-3-2 11% Ca -- this is a pretty significant calcium source. It's available by bulk semiload at present, and in the future it may be available in tote bags.
Call me with questions about pricing, or if you want to know more about the impact of chicken manure, you can send your request to International Ag Labs via the form at the bottom of our Pelleted Chicken Manure page.

For a limited time, until Aug. 31st, both pelletized lime & gypsum have a small price/ton reduction of $3 & $2 respectively.
Now is a good time to fill those bins at a relatively low shipping cost, things are not so busy yet with the truckers & they are willing to ship at lower rates than you'll probably get in the fall for sure.
The carbonized lime should be available by Sept. 1st, we will update you on the price as soon as we know it! For those of you who haven't heard, carbonized limestone is a new offering made available exclusively through International Ag Labs and through our Fertilizer Brokerage.
